Hot Sailing in the Orient

Competitors are waking up this morning in Dapeng, in the Guangdong Province of China, and preparing for day 3 of the Masters Division of the 21st Hobie®16 World Championships.
At the close of day two Rod and Kerry Waterhouse of Australia (14 points) still have a slight their lead over Byeong Ki Park and Hae Kwang Youn from South Korea (16). William and Lucinda Edwards from South Africa have maintained their third position (19) and two more Australian teams are sitting in 5th and 6th positions, Phillip and Caitlyn Epps and Mick and Patrick Butler both on (24).
A magnificent sunrise is just coming up over the South China Sea in a very clear morning sky. After two excellent days of sailing that have given those who prefer both light and medium winds an opportunity to display their skills we are again in for similar conditions. The light morning breeze will be the same as the past two days at 6kts and blowing up slightly as the day moves into early afternoon to around 10kts and coming in from the SSW.
The weather today should be a mirror image of yesterday. It is currently 280C (82.50F) with an expected maximum of 330C (91.50F), it will be hot and humid and feel more like 450C (1130F). There is a 24% chance of thunderstorms and with is an extreme UV warning.
We’re in for another great day of “hot” Hobie sailing in this beautiful region of the world. Bring it on!
